Abstract: In this communication, inverse heat conduction problem related to heating source tracking is investigated. In such a context, it is usual to introduce an optimization problem where a quadratic cost-function has to be minimized. Iterative minimization of this criterion based on conjugate gradient method is widespread since this algorithm provides regularization properties for inverse heat conduction problem. Quasi online adaptation of this numerical method aims to identify the unknown characteristics with a small delay after the required observations (temperature measurements). Moreover, this approach offers the opportunity to move mobile sensors in order to increase the overall sensitivity and thus to improve the quality of the identification. In addition, better sensors locations could also reduce the computational time. Thus quasi online identification could be improved (shorter delay and better accuracy).
